Septuagenarians Phil & Susan walk Mornington coast

Phil and Susan have just finished an 150km walk around the waters edge of the Mornington Peninsular, from their home in Port Melbourne to Point Nepean (doubling back a few time times.)

They did this not in a day but in many stages over a few months, starting on Susan’s 70th birthday late last year, with Christmas and Summer Holidays in the middle, staying in lovely accommodation, meeting interesting people and enjoying the bustle and sometimes the peace and quiet on the beaches, often walking barefoot in the shallows.

They were accompanied on a couple of the stages briefly by a few friends, which was great fun, thank you friends!

They finished at the historic Quarantine Station and Fort at the tip of Point Nepean, the coast of which is quite beautiful and is now open to the public.

Phil & Susan loved it, taking their time and smelling the roses!
