Phil and Susan have been out of mobile data range for the past couple of weeks, and will be until their arrival in Birdsville in another 2 weeks' time. This progress update delivered by sat-phone. Week 8 Day 50 June 24
Fabulous sign leaving Tibooburra (and the sun just up) depicting the Burke & Wills scene. Today, after another meal at the Family Hotel last night, we leave Tibooburra & start our Trek to The Dig Tree. Thank you Jack & Di for your company this weekend, your massages & your sustaining home cooked goodies to help us on our way. Thank you again to William & Melissa at The Family Hotel.


Week 7 Day 48 Tibooburra. 1,334 km walked
Drive In Movie tonight. First hot chocolate at the cafe then dinner at the Family Lodge Motel. We have arrived at the very friendly town of Tibooburra. Jack & Di from Nowra NSW have driven to meet us here - great to see them.


Week 7 Day 46 June 20
Michael passed us on the road to Tibooburra and kindly gave us some prime beef from Clifton Hills Station - (one of the biggest stations in the world) - Michael is a contractor and musters the cattle, thanks Michael. The Royal Flying Doctors container on the airstrip literally on the Silver City Hwy.

Broken Hill - 1000km Walked Susan & Phil at the old mine shaft in Broken Hill Family from Melbourne here to meet us, just wonderful to see you all and our 3 Grandies - very special. Phil & Susan on ABC Broken Hill radio with Andrew Schmit. Thank you Andrew & Sarah for the interview, we had many cars stopping along the road to ask how Phil was going and to donate to Fred Hollows Foundation. Week 5 Day 30 June 4
Menindee, a special place for the Burke & Wills story - the place where their much needed supplies were meant to be sent to Coopers Creek, but for many reasons they never arrived......,, Arriving in Menindee Look where we stayed! One of Ross Bastiaan’s plaques along the Burke & Wills route.

Phil early morning on the Pooncarie - Menindee Road loving life and enjoying the sunrise as always. Leon with sons Max & Tucker from Euchca on the way to the Finke races, stop to donate to the Fred Hollows Foundation and to give us some homemade beef jerky to get us through! Thanks boys.
