Melbourne to The Gulf of Carpentaria - day 1

Day 1 of our exciting recce from Melbourne to The Gulf of Carpentaria in our 4WD retracing Burke & Wills expedition of 1860. Preparing for Phil's epic Trek in August 2018.

A late start - afternoon tea at the historic mansion Woodlands, Burke & Wills 1st overnight stop, then we camped with a fire at Mia Mia near Kynton which was also an O/N stop for Burke & Wills.

At Mia Mia there is a large concrete map of Australia in the ground which has tracks of Wagon Wheels, Horses, Camping.
